Dear Customers please order your flowers from a flower shop with an address in/or near the city you are having flowers delivered!! Let me tell you why. There are order gatherers!! Sounds like a weird made up thing, I wish. These businesses make their money by being very convenient to find on the web for example, GiftTree and BloomsToday. These companies have large offices of people in some far away city who answer phones or take you order off the computer only to pass them on to a actual florist in the town you wish to have the flowers delivered. So far this doesn't sound so bad, but it gets worse. These gatherers charge service fees. These "fees" are added at the end of you entering all your information. For Gifttree the service fee is over $19. These fees go to the order gatherer. Then they take another couple bucks off the top then they send the order though Teleflora to another shop. By sending it through Teleflora they get to keep about 20% of the money spent on the "order". So long story short this is what one of Gifttrees customers spent: They bought a bouquet priced at $54.95 plus a service fee which totaled together= $74.90 Gifttree then called my shop and tried to get me to fill this customers order for $52.00. If I had taken this order I would have minus an $8 delivery and filled the order to value ($44). People mistakenly think the service charge is a delivery fee. If I were a customer I would be very disappointed to see a $41 arrangement when expecting closer to $55. So sad for this customer who spent $75.
